Sheikh Mohammed issues the law establishing the International Institute for Tolerance
An International Institute for Tolerance was established on Wednesday by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai
Law No 9 of 2017 on setting up the institute, also launches the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Tolerance Award.

The International Institute for Tolerance aims to instill a spirit of tolerance in society, building a cohesive society and promoting the UAE as a role model for tolerance, anti-extremism, and anti all forms of discrimination among people. The law also aims to honor groups and entities that contribute to entrenching the value of tolerance among people and promoting interfaith dialogue

The award will be awarded across five sector - three honoring the efforts to spread the value of tolerance in philosophy, literary creativity, and visual arts, and two competitions organized by the awards committee, focusing on youth projects and new media initiatives
